10 Ways to Insure Total Failure as a Musician

1 Assume that you have figured everything out, and make sure everyone else knows this. Find little ways of reminding everybody that you are smarter than them, and NEVER listen to their opinions or take them seriously. Humor them occasionally.

2. Don’t miss any opportunity to add more things to your busy schedule- whether it’s that extra non-paying gig you don’t have time for, or business meetings that make you feel good and accomplish nothing, fill it up!

Attitude

Is your attitude getting in the way of your goals? And how would you even know anyway?

One way to find out is to ask people you can trust enough to be frank with you, and then shut up and listen. It might be hard, but it’s worth it to be brave enough to accept that you might be personally responsible for situations and frustrations that you are not even aware of.

That’s why you can’t know unless someone else tells you. We all have blind spots. What’s yours? Oh yeah, I almost forgot- you can’t see it……
