When Will You Get There?

by stinson on March 29, 2010

What’s the destination, how will you get there, and how long till you reach that end?

That’s all up to you…

Is it once you have some kind of record deal?

Or once you have no record deal, but a great backing from Microsoft or Google instead?

Or once you get a manager? Or a Publicist? Or a Booking agent?

Doesn’t matter, because regardless you’re the one in control of your destination. No matter how you define success, it never happens until you put in the work.

What I’m writing here isn’t revolutionary or profound. We all pretty much read posts like this one a near daily basis. But yet we continually relinquish control. We continually wait for someone to hand it to us when instead should find it and take it… or create it…

Let’s stop subordinating ourselves. Let’s stop looking for someone else to give us permission to do something which we don’t need their permission to do. Let’s stop waiting around for it to be handed to us, and instead let’s get busy creating it.

Cool?
